Description
Live hard shell Chix or Chicks is what east coasters call a young lobster that weighs 1-1.25 lbs each in size. The average size when ordering 25-30 lb box is 1.12 lbs each. Caught wild from the cold waters off Nova Scotia such as the Bay of Fundy, Cape Sable and Cape Breton. Chix are know for being rich and sweet tasting and in most cases they are the more affordable size lobster. When serving you would place two lobsters per plate because they are not as big as a medium size lobster that you see in a restaurant that is 1.5-1.7 lbs in size.
